About Dr. Chapman
Dr. Chapman is an assistant professor and a registered psychologist in the Department of Psychology at Simon Fraser University, where he conducts research on borderline personality disorder, emotion regulation, self-harm, suicidal behaviour, impulsivity and related topics.
He regularly gives DBT workshops, supervises students’ clinical work with multi-problem clients, and consults with clinicians in Canada and the US. Dr. Chapman has published numerous empirical and theoretical articles and has given over 70 professional presentations on topics such as self-harm, borderline personality disorder (BPD), suicidal behavior, DBT, and impulsive behavior, among other topics. In Sept 2007, Dr. Chapman received the Young Investigator’s Award from the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (NEA-BPD).
